John Chiminski
Senior Advisor
John Chiminski was named Chief Executive Officer of Catalent, Inc. in March 2009 and appointed Chair of the Board in October 2016. He later served as Catalent’s Executive Chair from June 2022 to June 2023, as part of a planned CEO succession and transition to an independent Board Chair.
Under his nearly 15 years of leadership, Catalent transformed from a carveout of Cardinal Health into a global Tier 1 CDMO, significantly expanding its capabilities and market impact. His tenure included a successful IPO in 2014, the transition to a fully independent public company, and strategic investments that positioned the company for long-term growth. During his leadership, Catalent’s revenue grew at an 8% CAGR, and its enterprise value more than quintupled to $18.5 billion. In 2024, Catalent was acquired by Novo Holdings for $16.5 billion, reflecting its strong market position and the value created over the previous decade.
Prior to Catalent, Mr. Chiminski spent more than 20 years at GE Healthcare, where he held senior leadership roles across engineering, operations, and global business units. From 2007 to 2009, he was President & CEO of GE Medical Diagnostics, and previously led GE Healthcare’s global magnetic resonance and healthcare services divisions. Earlier in his career, he held crossfunctional leadership roles in operations and engineering, including international assignments in France.
Mr. Chiminski holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from Purdue University, both in electrical engineering, as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He was recognized with the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award from Purdue in 2012 and received the CPhI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 for his contributions to the biopharma and pharmaceutical services industry.
